Interviewing Excellence (IE) –
The Interviewing Excellence workshop is both strategic and tactical. This experiential workshop opens with a strategic model designed to help students and alumni think about when and how to achieve balance during the various phases of a typical employer interview process: balance between answering and asking questions; balance with regards to sharing information about oneself while learning more about a prospective employer.
The workshop continues with exercises designed to teach how to research prospective employers, how to open an interview, how to close an interview, and how to professionally follow up after the interview is finished. A significant part of the workshop introduces a model – PRO – for preparing for and answering behavioral interview questions.

Networking for Life (NFL) -
This module introduces networking as an essential element to one’s professional and career development, as well as the basis to one’s job search strategy. We begin by helping participants map out and organize their existing network. eNetworking strategies and resources are discussed. We then introduce effective and professional networking correspondence templates, and through an in-class exercise, help participants prepare for a networking meeting. The workshop concludes with tools and tips designed to help participants follow up with their network contacts, and action plan future moves.

Career Self-Assessment (CSA) –
The Career Self-Assessment workshop (CSA) helps participants begin their personal journey to uncover what they want out of their next job and their career. CSA sets out to do this by first discussing personal strengths and weaknesses. In CSA, we review a number of self-assessment instruments that are on the market today. The majority of the CSA workshop is centered on the Keirsey temperament model to help participants understand what sort of talents (traits, motivations, and behaviors) they have, and thus help them identify in what kinds of careers they are likely to thrive. After participants take and score the temperament sorter, A4L facilitators utilize a variety of in-class exercises to help participants see their strengths and the strengths of those around them.

Salary Negotiations (SN) –
The Salary Negotiations module follows a strategic positioning approach. Students learn the importance of creating the optimum position for a collaborative negotiation with the potential employer. We discuss the components of creating this position. Additionally, the participants engage in a career priorities exercise to gain a better personal understanding of their own work motivations and values, and how these will influence the job-offer evaluation process. Tactical tools for engaging in the salary negotiation, for evaluating the job offer and for accepting or declining the offer are studied.
